Rare Cyclone Alert for SW Australia

The last time a cyclone managed to get further down the coast was Cyclone Alby in the 1970's.

It looks like we might be in for a bit of a rough ride over the weekend if the cyclone travels according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast maps.
You can view it at http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDW60281.shtml

So to be on alert, from Jurien Bay to Albany, with possible effects felt on Sunday, is indeed, amazing.

Also there are two others off the coast of Queensland, so they are wtching and waiting also.

  1. Good luck, Susan. Hope everything goes OK. With all the floods and bad weather you Aussies have been having, I don't think you all need this either!

  2. Good luck with the weather. We have severe weather here in Texas quite a bit as we are located in what's known as "Tornado Alley". We usually get at least 1-3 hailstorms a year along with plenty of thunderstorms. We're too far inland to worry about hurricanes, though they have been known to spawn off tornados in our area - not good! I hope it doesn't prove to be as bad as you fear. Australia has had MUCH more than its fair share of foul weather already this year.

    Take care,
    Susan in Texas

  4. Once again, waiting to hear that all is well with you and yours. It seems we are all, across the globe, dealing with weather extremes--signs of times? One can only hope...
